Website Re-design

Client: Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts + California Health & Longevity Institute (CHLI)
My Role: Product Designer, UX Consultant, Web Designer
Project Lead: Sara Posner
Company: Sette Creative
Designers: Shayna Kulik, Sarah Nguyen

Challenge

There was consistent feedback from customers that the previous website was confusing and hard to navigate and made it unclear what they were offering. We were tasked with creating a clear message through a website re-design that would inspire expansion of the program to other Four Seasons Hotels.

Process

Through customer interviews and website analytics we found that the current site was not being used to explore offerings or book experiences. I reviewed customer feedback and performed a content audit and found the previous site had over 106 pages. I analyzed competitor sites and, through a SWOT analysis, determined the features to highlight on the new website.

We knew the site structure would have to be re-designed, so I conducted a session of card sorting to develop a new sitemap. From the sitemap, and after some sketching, I developed the wireframes and an interactive prototype.

Results

Soon after launch, we have received many positive reviews from customers. Traffic to the website increased steadily and the client was able to make relevant updates faster and easier than before.

I created a site map to illustrate the information architecture of the streamlined 31 pages (down from 106).

From Wireframes to Hi-Fidelity Designs

After iteration, I worked with the other designers to create the final website design. In the end, we streamlined the website to 31 pages, presented a clearer message, easier navigation, improved the visual elements, all while highlighting the strengths of the company and its unique programs.
